Abbotsbury is a very old village settled among the hills behind the great Chesil Bank.

The village features thatched cottages built from local stone, some dating from the 16th century.  Abbotsbury Swannery is its most well known attraction but visitors also enjoy the Subtropical Gardens and the Children's Barn. 

High above the village on a lonely hill stands the 14th century St Catherine's Chapel which offers stunning views of Chesil Beach below.
